In accordance with the SOLAS regulation inflatable SOLASlifejackets should be serviced annually by a licensed by manufacturer service station. For all other lifejackets, this regulation is not applicable. But almost all manufacturers recommend also annual maintenance intervals for the NON-SOLAS lifejackets, work and yacht lifejackets (CE approved) (with the exception of solid lifejackets).
The maintenance of an automatically inflatable lifejacketcovers the following activities that are included in the maintenance fee:

Open and removethe CO2 cartridge

Inflate the lifejacketfor at least 14 hours to test the tightness

Weighing the CO2 cartridge to control the filling

Check the CO2 cartridge

Examination of the seawater-release tablet in the automatic unit

Functional check of the belt system

Assembly and repackaging

Documentation preparing

Can be charged additionally:

CO2 cartridges

Belt repair

Exchange ofemergency light or its batteries

Seawater tablet

Small parts or material
